Watercolor on Hot Press paper

This painting, without any background, was completed in 2016. I always felt the emptiness surrounding the watering can as originally depicted. This year, in 2024, while gardening, I noticed a sprig of ivy amongst the flower bed. I immediately know how the painting should actually be completed. The sprig of ivy was the model for the added background.
