Artist Statement
Women of a certain age may feel unseen and dismissed. This sculpture announces, with hand on hip, we still have places to go, people to see, and things to do. The title is a song lyric sung by Bonnie Raitt that spoke to me. As a narrative found object assemblage sculptor, I use found objects to tell stories. The ideas begin as personal stories, but become universal in the process. I hope that something from my story will cause the viewer to reflect on their own narrative.
